Makes about 50 cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg

Dry

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground clove

Process

  1. Cream shortening, sugar, and molasses
  2. Add egg
  3. Mix until smooth
  4. Add dry ingredients
  5. Shape into 1-inch balls
  6. Roll in sugar
  7. Bake 10-11 minutes at 375F on ungreased cookie sheet
